What’s there

Wide, sunny sand at Wanda Beach, a lifeguard shelter and flags near the water

The beach

A 1.5 km run of sand, patrolled in front of the surf club from October to April. Deep rips and sandbars make good beach breaks, so it’s a popular surf spot; it also makes the water hazardous away from the flags.

The dunes

Fenced tracks cross the dunes from the reserve to the sand. Wanda is an Aboriginal word for beach or sand hills. Don Lucas Reserve, behind the beach, has a fitness track, playground, picnic areas, a half basketball court and exercise equipment.
