One hotel by the sand, and a lagoon in the way.

Narrabeen is the northern part of a 3.4 km beach that runs south to Collaroy, with four surf clubs along it. At the north end, the beach meets the mouth of Narrabeen Lagoon, and North Narrabeen is an internationally known surf break.

When we checked, there were two accommodation businesses within walking distance: Nightelier, on the beachfront strip, and the BIG4 holiday park on the far side of the lagoon mouth. The walk from the park goes round the lagoon by road, so it is longer than it looks on a map.
